George Osborn is the Editor of Video Games Industry Memo and one of the UK’s leading commentators on the video games industry, with over a decade’s experience explaining the sector’s economic, political and cultural impact to audiences beyond games.
He spent over five years as Head of Campaigns & Communications at Ukie, the UK video games trade body, and is a regular expert voice in major media including BBC News, Sky News, The Guardian, Politico and The New York Times. George is also a familiar figure on the global industry circuit, speaking and moderating at leading events across gaming, technology and policy.
Alongside VGIM, George advises regulators, NGOs and businesses through his consultancy Half-Space, and is the author of the forthcoming book Power Play: Video Games, Politics, and the Global Battle for Influence (Spring 2026).
