Last week, members attended Berry Bros & Rudd for a sparkling wine reception followed by guided tours through their two acres of cellars and event spaces. This really is one of the jewels in St James’s. Many of the members that have been with the Association for decades commented that no matter how many times they go to Berry Bros & Rudd, there always seems to be a different room that they previously haven’t seen and always glean a further “nugget” of history that was previously unknown.
We would like to especially thank Edwin Dublin for hosting this glorious event, his team and, in particular, Ziggy, who led one of the guided tours. It is fair to say that his knowledge of the history of Berry Bros & Rudd almost matches his knowledge of their remarkable selection of wines and spirits that they hold.
Following what was both a memorable and fascinating tour of their cellars, members were then treated to an exquisite tasting in the wine and spirit shops which included both red and white wines from various corners of the world as well as a variety of hand-picked spirits with their No 3 Vespa Martini being a favourite amongst many of our members. Some members made purchases with the expert guidance of the team at Berry Bros & Rudd and many have already said they will be returning with their orders. A simply wonderful evening appreciated and enjoyed by all. Thank you Edwin and your incredible team!
Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Berry Bros & Rudd company charity, the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, a charity dedicated to funding research to find a cure for motor neuron disease.
