Last Thursday evening, 31st January, for the second year running, the Mayfair and St James’s Association and the Royal Over-Seas League (ROSL) came together for an exclusive networking reception in collaboration with the Jermyn Street Association. The event was hosted at the esteemed clubhouse, a not-for-profit organisation founded in 1910, dedicated to promoting international friendship in accordance with its royal charter – an ethos that binds its global membership.
Its Grade I-listed clubhouse, located in the heart of St James’s, offers a variety of events, including a public affairs series focused on geopolitical issues, concerts, art exhibitions and fine food and wine occasions. The clubhouse also boasts a dining room, over 80 bedrooms, event spaces and a beautiful garden overlooking Green Park, where members can enjoy al fresco dining during the summer months. ROSL champions young musicians and artists through an extensive arts programme, including its renowned Annual Music Competition, which has been running for over 70 years.
The reception brought together a diverse group of business leaders, professionals and residents from the area, providing the perfect opportunity to connect and celebrate the remarkable work of the community.
Guests savoured a curated selection of exceptional wines from Davy’s Wine Merchants, perfectly complemented by an assortment of exquisite canapés and bowl food. The lively and welcoming atmosphere fostered networking, as attendees exchanged ideas, cultivated new relationships and discovered the distinctive businesses that make Mayfair and St James’s so unique. The success of the evening highlighted the strong sense of community and the commitment to supporting local professionals in these iconic districts.
