Fellows is pleased to announce the appointment of a new director to further accelerate the growth of the company.
Fellows are one of the leading specialist luxury goods auction houses in the UK. Holding over 100 auctions a year, primarily online, Fellows specialises in the sale of jewellery, watches, handbags & fashion accessories. The company was founded in 1876 to sell bicycles, and since that date it has gone from strength to strength, establishing a reputation as a leading UK auction specialist. Fellows has broken industry records for auction attendance and is rated as “Excellent” by its customers with a 4.5 rating on Trustpilot.
Over the last 40 years, Stephen and Jayne Whittaker and their team have been behind these developments. They are very pleased to appoint a new director to the senior management team, with Stephen Whittaker retaining his role as Managing Director.
Robin Hereford will take on the role of Chairman and assume responsibility for business development. He will be primarily based at the company’s London office in Charles Street, Mayfair. Robin has worked in the auction industry for over 25 years, most recently as Director of Private Clients at Bonhams where he was also a Director of the Bonhams UK Board, and Director of the Art Collections, Estates & Valuations Department. Commenting on the appointment, Stephen Whittaker, Managing Director said:
“I am delighted to welcome Robin to Fellows to join me in developing the business with which my family has been associated for just shy of 150 years. He brings a wealth of experience which will assist in the continuing expansion of the company. Robin’s extensive knowledge of the auction world will allow Fellows to enhance and grow our well-established auction business.”
Robin Hereford commented, “Joining Fellows presents an array of opportunities to build on the established DNA that Fellows has in the jewellery, watch and luxury goods market. The passion and knowledge of the Fellows team are well-known and respected throughout the industry, and I am excited we will be building on this rich heritage.”
His appointment further broadens the breadth of industry knowledge at Fellows following other senior appointments in recent years – Laura Warrilow joined as Head of Watches from her role leading the pre-owned offering at Watches of Switzerland earlier this year and Paul Greer moved from his role as Co-Director at Bentley & Skinner to become International Head of Jewellery in October 2023.
