London St Patrick’s Day Parade 2024 is due to take place on Sunday 17th March between noon and 2pm.
The Mayor of London organises this historical parade through central London to celebrate St Patrick’s Day each year. This is the 20th year the event has taken place and the Irish community in London will be back with a colourful procession to celebrate Irish culture. The parade will be overseen by the popular Giant St Patrick!
The parade will set off from Hyde Park Corner at noon, travelling down Piccadilly, to Piccadilly Circus where it turns right down Regent Street. From there it will turn left onto Pall Mall, pass the St Patrick’s Day Festival in Trafalgar Square and is due to end in Whitehall by 3pm.
There is a road closure order in place along the parade route between 11am and 4pm but will reopen the road as soon as we are able to.
The Festival within Trafalgar Square will be taking place from noon to 6pm. It will host a stage with a world-class line-up of Irish culture and music, which is programmed in partnership with the London Irish Centre. In addition to this, the Square will welcome a vibrant selection of street food stalls, family activities, children’s films and youth performances, community choirs and dance troops.
The event requires a number of road closures, for which we work closely with Westminster Council, Transport for London and other partners to manage and minimise disruption to the local community.
Please note that vehicle egress northbound for businesses and residents of St James will be via St James Street to Albemarle Street only. This crossing will be managed by our traffic management and security team between noon and 3pm on Sunday 17th March 2024 and may be limited for a small period whilst the parade passes.
